If you're seeking a fun, community oriented way to make a difference, get in your student volunteer hours, or beef up your resumé, WychCraft Market might interest you...

It's a fun gig where you deal directly with the public while assisting a community oriented, creative group. You'll learn about running a small business, managing and marketing outdoor events, and what it means to be part of a community.

WychCraft volunteers are friendly, outgoing, and keen to work. Good communication skills and polite exchanges are a must as is the ability to lift a 20 lb table. Our volunteers can sign up for every second Saturday or every Saturday--whatever suits your schedule.

Here's some general guidelines of what our volunteers help with:

Market Set-up and Tear-Down Assistant:
Set Up assistant: Help vendors set up tables, tents, etc. Arrive onsite at 9:30 am and stay for an hour and a half. Tear-down assistant: Help vendors and the market manager pack up tables and tents, retrieve lawn signage, etc. Arrive onsite at 3:45 pm and stay for an hour.

Market Day Assistant:
Assist with anything that needs doing on Market days. Direct patrons, assist vendors, and man the info booth, assit with set-up and tear-down. Arrive at 9:30 am, stay until 4:15pm. Take a break when you need to, just let the manager know.

Market Promotion Volunteer:
Posting flyers and posters in local businesses and organizations, etc. Encouraging people on the street to visit the market, post online promotional messages, etc., seek out new marketing venues.
